Mission Statement  - The Largest Girls Program in Texas

Our mission is to raise the quality of play and players for girls' basketball in the Cy-Fair Area to prepare these girls for the next level of competition. As an integral part of this mission, Cy-Fair Texans will:

  • Our #1 Mission is to get a scholarship for EVERY athlete.
  • Maintain a focus on girls in the Houston and surrounding area
  • Strive to retain girls in the Cy-Fair Area in our program, while also pulling athletes from all areas of the city
  • Provide coaching excellence
  • Provide basketball fundamentals excellence in the form of skill training and development
  • We will supply college recruiting opportunities for every athlete 
  • Work closely with the Cypress Fairbanks high schools to provide an avenue for young athletes to enter the competitive program
  • Support as many teams as possible, while maintaining a positive experience for the athletes
  • Strive to field at least one team at each age group with the best talent to compete at the highest level possible
  • Promote unity between all teams in the organization
  • Develop a Cy-Fair Texans Coaching System to promote consistency and exchange of athletes between teams

***Our owner/director is contracted as Exclusive Consultant with Fila Basketball, responsible for sales, marketing and product promotions for it's new basketball brand.  CTB is an authorized licensee to sell and promote all Fila branded products.  Fila Basketball is the primary shoe/product for CTB and it's member clubs.  Our Elite teams travel nationally to Fila events to include FILA NATIONALS and Top 10 All American Camp. *** 

Team History

Helping female student athletes obtain college scholarships in basketball was the founding principle of the Team Texas Program, which was established in Dallas, Texas in 1995. Womens basketball was growing at a tremendous rate and colleges were looking for student-athletes to join their programs.

Since its inception, the program has been instrumental in helping more than seventy female athletes obtain full college basketball scholarships. Scholarships have been awarded to such schools as Tennessee, Texas, Iowa State, Texas Tech, La Tech, Baylor, Texas A&M, Nebraska, North Texas, Kansas, TCU, SMU, Long Beach State. The list continues to grow.

Cy Fair Texans

In late spring of 1999, Team Texas was introduced in Houston. A team was assembled to play in the 12-year-old division of Basketball Congress International (BCI) national championship in Dallas. The team consisted of twelve girls from the greater Houston area. After four practices, the team placed 5th in the tournament. The following year the team finished 4th in the 13U age division.

Our team has represented Cy Fair all over the United States. In 2002, we finished in the Elite 8 at the adidas Showtime National Tournament in Las Vegas. We will also compete this year at the adidas Tournament of Champions in Atlanta, Georgia and the adidas Deep South Classic in Raleigh, North
Carolina. Our entire team has been invited to attend the adidas Top 10 All-American Camp later this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.

2006 and Beyond:

CTB now sponsors club teams all over Texas, Louisiana and expanding to other states. We currently have teams in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Each year we look to expand in those states. We are NOT a program that looks to just win tournaments, rather we focus on training, which is what we offer in Camp Now and CTB Combine. In addition, we are the founder and sponsor of the ONLY high school girls basketball awards banquet in Texas called "Houston Top 20". This award banquet honors the top 20 seniors in Houston as selected by our panel of high school coaches, club coaches and local sports media.
